About Me

An avid people & pet photographer, this blog is an easier way to share stories and photos with family and friends that are scattered across the globe. I'm a blonde who finally went back to her natural color after years of being a redhead. I'm in love with photography, reading, movies, live music, history and my Italian Greyhound Dante. Born in Norway, I've been living in SoCal since I was five. {Photo by Nancy Orozco}

A Walk Through L.A.

Previously, on Recovering Firecracker: I mentioned that I attended the most recent Faded & Blurred photowalk through downtown LA. It was so much fun! Even more people joined in than at the last one at Griffith Park and the vibe of the crowd was just so upbeat and friendly the whole time.

Nancy went with me too, and we met up with a smaller group at the Covina train station to take the Metrolink into the city, since the walk was starting at Union Station anyways. So easy not to have to worry about traffic or parking! The last time I was on a train was in England in 2004, so I kept getting flashbacks. :)

So we started at Union Station, walked up past Olvera Street to Pershing Square, over to the Walt Disney Concert Hall and then down to Philippe's for delish dinner before taking the train back. I highly recommend walking the streets of LA sometime - there's more history and beautiful architecture than TV would lead you to believe!

So here's a few of my favorite shots. To see my full set of photos, go here. And definitely check out Nancy's photos right here (lots of goofy photos of me)!

On the train up:

Hello, my name is Trude, and I'm a sun flare addict:

Like I said, awesome architecture:

Oh, hai!

This homeless guy was amazing. I wasn't going to be rude and take a photo, but he started talking to me and then said "Here, take a pictchur of the ugliest man in LA!" Such a funny/unfunny moment.

I didn't take too many once the sun went down, since I didn't bother lugging around a tripod, but I did like how this one of the stairs up the Concert Hall turned out:

So there you have it! Such a great time. Can't wait for the next one!
