Climbing the Rocks

After my Available Light Portraiture class at Tri Community Saturday morning (very excited about it!), Mindy and I headed up to Vasquez Rocks to meet up with Frank and a couple others from the Faded & Blurred community. It was really the perfect day, except for the crazy strong winds that had our eyes tearing up immediately. As shown in the photo above, it even made Mindy lose a bow!

The rocks really were awe-inspiring, and thanks to all the rain and sunshine we've had around here lately everything was in full bloom. It made for lovely photos, but unfortunately by the time I made it home that night, I could hardly breathe my allergies were so bad! But totally worth it. Afterwards we headed over to Carol's restaurant, The Backwoods Inn, for some seriously delicious food. She hooked us up with a room all to ourselves and amazing service. If you're ever up around Santa Clarita/Agua Dulce, make sure to stop by there! The collection of antiques that she (and her parents before her) has amassed is awesome.

This week is looking much quieter, since Nikki and Katie and their fam are heading to Vegas and my family isn't doing a Boozeaster celebration for the first time in many years. {For a number of reasons - mainly, my dad is still home with a herniated disc, mom is still recovering from her surgery and one of my cousins is out of town...plus we're getting a bit old!}

Sounds like such a fun day. Love the shot you got of Mindy.
