Running, Running

This week and last week have been absolutely insane for me at work, so that by the time I get home I have no energy for blogging! My department's one big event of the year is tomorrow - wish me luck!

Had to stop in and share a few recent photos, though, and let all five of my loyal readers know I'm still alive. :)

My mom has finally been cleared by the doc to go back to work, and she's feeling better than ever! But of course, as she's been healing these past few weeks since her surgery, she couldn't just lay in bed all day, oh no. Her big project has been sorting through the vintage filing cabinet full of my grandmother's photos. Not only family stuff, but tons of shots from horse shows and such. I think she's only gotten through about two drawers at this point!

On the plus side, I'm in love with the old boxes for prints and slides:

Love seeing her handwriting everywhere.

This past Saturday I hosted a John Hughes movie night/potluck for a small group of friends, which was really awesome! We watched The Breakfast Club, of course, and also had Pretty in Pink on the menu since certain people (coughNikkicough) hadn't ever seen it, but several naysayers vetoed it in favor of drinking, chatting and eating. I suppose that's all right. ;) But in all the excitement I completely neglected to take any photos that night!

I at least got this hilarious shot of Ted getting a bath earlier that day (from my iPhone), in between running errands and cooking and cleaning:

For once he had his mouth shut, i.e. not crying. The crazy kitty will just wander the house, crying to himself for no apparent reason other than he's alone/feels like it/likes the sounds of his own voice.

What can I say, we're awash with crazy animals. Like attracts like, no? :)

My reward for crazy times at work is to go and see another Nerdist live podcast taping this Thursday night - with none other than sexy Craig Ferguson as the guest! Woohoo! Mr. Same Same gets back from a business trip to Hawaii that morning (rough life, huh?), so we'll have a lovely date night. Very excited. :)
